Often people think Golden Twilight is referring to only nighttime. However, the word “Twilight” really means half-light”. For, the half-light of morning or evening is a symbol of dichotomy, representing the dividing-line which at once joins and separates a pair of opposites. The infamous night and day opposites.
Hence, twilight is the period of time before sunrise and after sunset, in which the atmosphere is partially illuminated by the sun, being neither totally dark nor completely lit.
“Golden hour of magical light the sky is alive” – Tanish Kherotia
As you know, the morning twilight is often called dawn, while the evening twilight is also known as dusk. Each twilight can last for just fifteen minutes, depending on your location. For this is the golden hour which occurs just after sunrise and before sunset, when the sun is low on the horizon, creating that signature warm glow.
A kind of golden hour one remembers for a lifetime… Everything was touched with magic. – Margaret Bourke-White
Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. – Og Mandino
This acrylic painting with its demarcation of light and dark colors enhanced by sprinkles of golden rays seems to echo the meaning of the word twilight. Hence its name “Golden Twilight “.
You know that great pause that comes upon things before the dusk, even the breeze stops in the trees. To me there is always an air of expectation about that evening stillness” – H. G. Wells
