On the Prey an acrylic Hawk Painting.

Perhaps if you gaze at this acrylic painting with the hawk in mid air and its sight set on its current goal, you probably can see why I titled this artwork “On the Prey”.

On the Prey - Hawk Acrylic Painting In Room Setting

For, we can learn so much from Nature which includes all those glorious creatures great and small. Actually, I believe connecting with nature makes us a better person and a more peaceful soul.

Additionally, I found this excerpt from Ted Andrews “Animal Speak” Book to be quite enlightening.

“A hawk is a hawk. It behaves like a hawk and not like a duck. Because of what it is, it is able to recognize the opportunities essential for, and unique to, its life. If it fails to catch its prey, it does no worry about being unable to eat. It persists. It does not change. It works to become a more effective predator, for that is where its success lies.”

Indeed, those are some powerful words. For, it is usually our fears of being who we are that holds us back from reaching our dreams. Perhaps when we are true to ourselves, our instincts and our potentials, we will have conquered our fear and be more like the hawk.

The Hawk – An Intriguing Bird of Prey

It is said and I believe that hawks are one of the most intriguing and mystical of the birds of prey. For, they are the messengers, the protectors, and the visionaries of the air. Additionally, like owls, hawks have keen eyesight. I am so blessed to see and hear and experience so many aspects of the hawk. I watch them fly, prey for their food, listen to their screeches and calls to each other and watch them perch for long periods. Surprisingly, I am often lucky to capture great photos of them.

Definitely, all hawks are impressive and stir our imagination. Their hunting ability, their eyesight, and their powerful flights will always impress me. So, this acrylic painting “On the Prey” is my tribute to the many hawks I see every day.
