Like most of my paintings, I usually create without any preconceived direction. I give my inside voice the freedom to communicate. I liked the feeling of this painting, but I hadn’t yet given much pause to what this painting meant to me. So, it surprised me how this painting got its name and how perfect a name it is.
I had completed 4 paintings and asked my husband, Greg, if he would join me for a glass of wine in my studio and to assist me in naming my latest paintings. He had gone into the studio about 5 minutes before me and was just gazing at the completed pieces.
When we got to this particular one, he said “well it is Faeries in the Glen”. I stopped looked at the painting and couldn’t believe he actually saw the soft faerie lights when I hadn’t yet even noticed them.
