Strength, Passion, and Spirit – my Fiery Trio.
Perhaps you have read in my artist statement or one of my other artist talks, that I sign my paintings with the name “Red”. Some may think this is because of my hair color. And yes, you would be partially correct. But of more importance, it is actually the influence of the color red and my fiery nature.
I am a middle child, one of seven siblings, and consi
dered to have a fiery nature. So, I guess the Red signature suits me just fine. Additionally, if you stop and think about the color red, it is known for 3 special elements that I try to convey in my artwork – Strength, Passion, and Spirit.
For Red gives me:
- Strength to express myself freely and allow my inspiration to dance across the canvas,
- Passion to live life to its fullest and to create with that passion,
- Spirit to reflect on something greater and more meaningful than myself.
Indeed, I have a strong personality, excitable and zealous. But I also have high self-discipline and a willingness to succeed. So, I hope that these three acrylic paintings titled “Fiery Trio”ignite something within you and reflect my own passionate, fiery nature.
