Searching On Display at Panache Fine Jewelry and Art Gallery in Ogunquit, ME

2020 has especially been a year of searching. Searching for a vaccine, searching for answers to a barrage of questions about life, society and us as a human race. Many are searching for strength within ourselves to keep going in the face of unprecedented challenges.

But the positive thing about searching is it promises discovery along with the risk. So, we must continue to search for answers to make us a better human race and allow our soul to soar.

Searching As The Artist

“First, one seeks to become an artist by training the hand – techniques. Then one finds it is the eye that needs improving – drawing skills. As an artist, I am always searching for my inner self and artist voice. Sometimes I need not search at all, it is just there; and other times, it is hidden from me by my fears and unwillingness to just be myself. As I am sure most artists do, we compare ourselves and talent to others, always striving to improve our craft. Like many artists, I feel that I’m always looking for something indefinable, something that’s always just out of reach.

The positive thing about searching is it promises discovery along with the risk. Perhaps, I might even discover that the truth is that I am already the artist that I am seeking. I only need to have faith and let my spirit be represented on the canvas.
