Soul & Inspriation

Soul is an entity without physical or material reality; it consists of your mind, character, thoughts, and feelings. It is a person’s moral or emotional nature or sense of identity.

But the definition that connects with me as an artist is – the soul is an emotional or intellectual energy or intensity, especially as revealed in a work of art or an artistic performance.

Then you add in inspiration – the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions. The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. I definitely found my inspiration in the creation of abstracts.

So as Kurt Vonnegut, the American writer says “To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to grow your soul. So do it”.

I titled this painting “Soul & Inspiration” as a reminder to me that with a little soul and my continued unequivocal energy, enthusiasm and passion to create art, I am truly growing my soul. Hopefully one or two of my paintings touch your soul and provide you with inspiration.
