Forest Spirits 2 – SOLD
SOLD at Masters Gallery or Clayton Lane Fine Arts – Cherry Creek, Denver, CO
“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit”. – Robert Louis Stevenson
These two paintings were created with no brushes, no palette knives. All affects, swirls, blending of colors were a result of paint applied with my fingers. I dipped my fingers into a specific color or two and with a little extra linseed oil to make the paint move easily across the canvas, as I painted this picture.
“I believed then – in a deep, easy way that is impossible for me as an adult – that there was more to this world than meets the eye. Trees had spirits; the wind spoke. If you followed a toad or a raven deep into the heart of the forest, they were sure to lead you to something magical”. – Jennifer McMahon
