Howling at the Moon
One of my favorite bands to listen to while painting is Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
Their music has so much soul and passion. Just hearing the first few beats of any of their music, I immediately begin to dance and sang. The song titled “Howling at Nothing” has such a smoky sexy beat to dance to and of course, in my case to dance and paint to. I especially like the chorus which begins with the line “We were howlin at the moon”.
So I titled this painting “Howling at the Moon” for its smoky and mysterious feeling created by its uncomplicated colors, expressive brush strokes, and diverse shapes. The painting reminds me of the song’s rhythm and lyrics that easily sway together and intertwined with each other for an excellent experience.
