“The green eyes
Yeah, the spotlight
Shines upon you”
Green eyes are a rarity making them quite unique. So many songs written about girls’ eyes are either blue or brown, but Coldplay actually wrote this great song titled “Green Eyes”. The few lyrics above are from this song.
Have you heard it? You can listen to it using this link Green Eyes Song by Coldplay
Some say this is a love song written by lead singer Chris Martin about how his life has been so much better ever since he met a certain girl with green eyes. The song was not about Gwyneth Paltrow for she has blue eyes. Regardless, the song is just beautiful, expressing the feelings a guy has for his green–eyed love.
But what makes eyes green?
A pigment called melanin is responsible for eye color. In fact, this is the same pigment that determines the color of our skin. Green irises have an uncommon melanin level. Definitely less than brown eyes, but more than blue eyes, making this color so unique. Additionally, studies have even found that many people consider green to be the most attractive eye color.
In addition, a few actors, singers and other celebrities may owe a small part of their appeal to their green eyes. You might even recognize some of them from the list below:
Adele, Adrien Brody, Daniel Day-Lewis, Katie Holmes, Terrence Howard, Kate Hudson, Scarlett Johansson, John Krasinski, Leona Lewis, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Middleton (Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge), Clive Owen, Joaquin Phoenix, Eddie Redmayne, Rihanna, Smokey Robinson, Paul Rudd, Kristen Stewart, Emma Stone, Tilda Swinton, Channing Tatum, Charlize Theron, Bruce Willis.
Green is a color I usually don’t make prominent in my paintings. But this particular acrylic painting is all about green. The color was obviously calling out to me when I selected the paints for this abstract. So, with my palette knives and a couple of brushes this painting came to life. And fortuitously, Coldplay’s Green Eyes song happened to play in my studio while I painted. Since I like Coldplay’s music, I couldn’t help but title this abstract after their soft and uplifting song.
