Floating in the Mist

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” John Lubbock Sky, Nature, Listening

Sometimes leaving the reality of the current world behind and floating in the mist, even if it is just for a little while, can be a positive and productive experience.

Do you free your thoughts and gracefully float on the realm of imagination and possibilities? Perhaps allowing ourselves to float in the mist without the constraints of reality, we may enlighten our tomorrow. Do you divert yourself into simple idleness where your conscious has no anchor or preconceived notion? You could travel to undiscovered thought by floating among the clouds or drifting in the river current; a chance to imagine concepts and newness we could not otherwise phantom.

This painting titled “Floating in the Mist” with its smoky and soft appearance reminds me to take time to renew my psyche and discover that sometimes by allowing our thoughts to float without direction and preconceived determination, we just might open doors to a different way of thinking.
