Enchantment means having a feeling of great pleasure, delight. Then, I think that the majority of my painting experiences is just that – a magical state, like being under a spell. I definitely lose all track of time.
For, this painting is titled Enchantment not because I would be so bold to ever say my audience is captivated by my creations; but that painting conveys that creating my abstracts is a seduction and powerful allure to me that usually brings excitement, appeal and a fulfillment of my soul.
For me, art is make-believe. It’s enchantment. It’s a fable. I’m enjoying that and playing with it. Of course it’s serious, and art is serious, but I’m not going to rarefy it. – Shea Hembrey
