Freedom Abounds

Here’s to freedom, cheers to art. Here’s to having an excellent adventure and may the stopping never start.” ~Jason Mraz, singer-songwriter, musician

Freedom to express my creativity is like releasing a kid in a candy store to pick out whatever he / she desires. Indeed, when I create my artwork, I experience a freedom like no other. For, I am alive and the multitude of thoughts, ideas and dreams within me are free to live.

“Freedom is a pretty strange thing.

Once you’ve experience it,

it remains in your heart,

and no one can take it away.”

~Ai Wei, Chinese artist and freedom activist

I truly believe creative freedom allows us to open doorways where imaginable perceptions become the reality. In fact, we have the artistic freedom to create anything, anytime, anywhere with very few limitations. We are free to create, to give the world something that has not yet existed.

So, my painting called “Freedom Abounds” expresses a mood without limits or boundaries. And yes, if you notice a little bit of Red, White and Blue in this painting, I am thankful to be an American with the freedom to follow my path as an abstract artist.

“Painting what I experience, translating what I feel, is like a great liberation. But it is also work, self-examination, consciousness, criticism, struggle…” – Balthus
