If you know anything about the Beach Boys, then you probably have heard their popular song titled “Good Vibrations.”
“Good Vibrations” is a song composed and produced by Brian Wilson with words by Mike Love for the American rock band the Beach Boys. Released as a single in October 1966, it was an immediate critical and commercial hit, topping record charts in several countries including the US and UK. In fact it was characterized by its complex soundscapes, episodic structure, and subversions of pop music formula. Additionally, it was the most costly single ever recorded at the time of its release. However, “Good Vibrations” later became widely acclaimed as one of the greatest masterpieces of rock music.
Virtually every pop music critic recognizes “Good Vibrations” as one of the most important compositions and recordings of the entire rock era. Also, it is regularly hailed as one of the finest pop productions of all time. Furthermore, its success earned the Beach Boys a Grammy nomination for Best Vocal Group performance in 1966. For the song was eventually inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1994.
Good Vibrations the Painting
The day I created this particular painting, that I titled “Good Vibrations”, a couple of dear friends from Colorado were visiting me. These two-special people are the perfect poster children for “Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life.” For example, Roger always sees the good in people, is always happy, easy going and has a sense of inner peacefulness. You just want to be around him. Alternatively Mike is always positive and never lets his challenges with Parkinsons or other aliments deter him; he keeps going no matter what.
So I find this painting with its bright colors, soothing happy moods, and a feeling of positivity reflects the good vibrations that they shared with me during our visit.
