Wildflowers Shine
“Like wildflowers; you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would” -E.V.
It doesn’t matter if they are alongside a busy road, peaking out of parking lots, decorating the side of mountains or adding beauty to the woods; I truly love wildflowers. They offer a symbolism of freedom, an adventuress spirit. Wildflowers are definitely a positive reminder that through concrete, dried out soil, freezes, massive winds, or even flooding, the wildflower not only grows and flourishes, but shines with such beauty. Wildflowers just seem to grow wherever they want. No one plants them, but still they exist. They even find new places to grow as the wind carries their seeds away.
Can’t you just see how they all bloom with their brightest colors? Perhaps you have picked a posy of wildflowers – harebell, bindweed, campion, and bladderwort. There are such an endless variety of pretty wildflowers: stitchwort, ragwort, silverweed, lady’s purse, cinquefoil and more. Maybe you envision the delicate flowers nodding as their petals and leaves are disturbed by the gentle breeze blowing against them or you see a field of color inviting you to enjoy their glory.
This painting is titled “Wildflowers Shine” for as I gaze upon it, I recall with delight the wildflowers’ beauty. I think how they have eluded fires and drought and freezes to continue to thrive. Oh, to live my life as a wildflower – to prevail and continue to grow through life’s challenges.
“Wildflowers can’t be controlled, and neither can the girl with a soul boundless as the sky, and a spirit as free and wild as the ocean.” ― Melody Lee, Moon Gypsy
