Summer arrives with a Barbecue Sky. For, summer is a time when color abounds. Indeed, it seems brilliant color is everywhere – the sky, the oceans, the multitude of flowers blooming, particularly the wildflowers, the immense selection of fruits and vegetables, even the fashion is brighter and more alive.

Summer and barbecues just seem to go hand-in-hand. Whether it is at the beach, the lake or in your own oasis, we all like to be among friends and share the outdoors and our barbecue.

“Welcome to our firepit – where friends and marshmallows get toasted at the same time!”

For, summer is a time when your grilling becomes more creative. You may grill fish, meats, veggies and even some form of dessert. No matter, the summer sky invites you to experiment, indulge, and enjoy your delectable food with others.

“Here’s to the nights that turned into mornings with the friends that turned into family.”

This painting titled Barbecue Sky with its deep red colors brings me back to summers long-ago.  Indeed, I easily recall as a young girl watching my Dad cooking at his grill. My mouth still waters just thinking of his excellent homemade barbecue sauce lathered on top of charcoal cooked chicken. Oh, it was definitely something to enjoy and remember.

“If summer had one defining scent, it’d definitely be the smell of barbecue.”

Soon, the days will be longer, the sun will brighter, and the sky brilliant with summer colors. It’s time to bring on summer!  So, grab your charcoal or gas along with your grill, and perhaps some refreshing drinks and let’s get to barbecuing!

“Cause a little bit of summer is what the whole year is all about.” – John Mayer
