Goodness Gracious is one of those paintings that embodies happiness and excitement. Or perhaps even, a little surprise with the sense of joy as one regards it. With the application of bright acrylic colors, varied lively shapes, this abstract is all about harmony and delight. Additionally, with the use of the color white intertwined throughout the prominent colors of red, blue, green and yellow, the artwork coveys a welcoming feeling of goodness with a touch of fun.

“The real champions in life are so humble and gracious. They just continue doing what they do without all the posturing. If you’ve got the real thing, you don’t have to flaunt a loud imitation.” Denis Waitley

So perchance, as you gaze upon this acrylic abstract titled “Goodness Gracious” you too will experience a pleasant impression. Nevertheless, I am humble, gracious and grateful for the talent god gave me to create my paintings.

“All I can do is be faithful with my gift, be faithful with anyone I talk to and let love be my guide and just be gracious with people. God will take care of the rest. I really believe that.” Marc Martel

Oh, and a side note, maybe when you read or hear the words “goodness gracious”, the phrase “Goodness gracious, great balls of fire” sung by Jerry Lee Lewis comes to mind. For the phrase is from the song “Great Balls of Fire” released in 1957 by Jerry Lee Lewis on Sun Records. In fact, it was also featured in the 1957 movie “Jamboree”. ‘Great balls of fire’ originated as an expression in the southern states of the USA, around 1850. It derives from the many biblical references to the presence of God being indicated by a fire. Many artists such as Elvis Presly and Johnny Cash have also sung the song.
