Night Interest

“I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.”– Vincent Van Gogh

Does the night interest you? Do you look up to the sky and wonder about the many stars and unknown galaxies out there? Perhaps you like watching the night lights reflect onto a pond or city lake. Maybe your attention is captured by the shapes and colors made by the city lights dancing in the tall downtown glass structures. There’s beauty in the night, we just need to take a moment to discover it.

“If there were no night, we would not appreciate the day, nor could we see the stars and the vastness of the heavens.”

Night surrounds us with dark, but it need not be gloomy. Perhaps you definition of a good night is one of quiet and solitude.  A kind of night you enjoy spending alone. A time to be silent and still, to pay extra attention to your mind, spirit and subconscious while you find comfort in the night.

“Night is the mother of thoughts.”– John Florio

Maybe your night interest is to listen to the sounds of nature preparing for the evening. Relaxing and soothing soundsof the forest at night can be such a peaceful experience. Perhaps you can already hear the Owl hooting in the distance, or the night breeze rustling the leaves, maybe even the symphony of crickets and frogs delight your ears. It’s easy to find tranquility while listening to the night.

This Triptych titled “Night Interest”is a representation that no matter how dark the night may be, it offers us a chance to reflect, renew, and enjoy the beauty it has to offer us. Whether it is the city night lights, the heavenly shinning stars above or the wondrous sounds of nature, you can look at the night at different angles but its true beauty is always there.
