Petals – Original SOLD

“Do not waste time dreaming of great faraway opportunities; do the best you can where you are. Open your petals of power and beauty and fling out the fragrance of your life in the place that has been assigned to you.” – Orison Swett Marden

I do so love the innocent and natural beauty of flowers. Flowers especially the wild ones growing free hold such feel-good powers for me. I have so many fond memories and pictures of the mountain sides of Colorado screaming of life with its glorious display of wildflowers.

During my summers in Colorado, some of my best days were coming upon a magnificent field of wildflowers. If I was in the car, I would try to convince my husband to stop and let me take pics.  While hiking, of course I stopped to appreciate their beauty with so many different varieties, color, sizes and shapes. If you look closely, each petal is so uniquely refined and intricately colored. Even theirfresh, fantastically fragrant blossoms always paints a smile on my face.

There is just a sense of peace and hopefulness when I gaze upon the spectacular countryside that has been blessed with a multitude of wildflowers. Just offering us a time to stop and cherish their simple but undeniable splendor.  “If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.” – Buddha

Even while living in Florida, I find many opportunities to appreciate wildflowers. There is a place on SR 417 near Lake Jessup that blooms these large fields of brightly yellow flowers. The occurrence only happens between September and October timeframe, but I anxiously await their arrival each year.

“Flowers enshrine my heart between their petals; that’s why my heartbeats love them so much” ― Munia Khan

Gazing upon this painting, perhaps you can see why I named it petals. It seems to be a flower opening its petals for you to experience its innate colorful beauty.
