“Seriousness is too boring to the playful human condition. A heart of stone that has a long face can never express love.” ― Michael Bassey Johnson, Master of Maxims
We often forget to play. Everyday life has a way of taking over with no time left to play. We are so serious about accomplishing our tasks that we are remiss in taking pleasure by being a little playful and a little mischievous at times.
“I shall grow old, but never lose life’s zest,
Because the road’s last turn will be the best” – Henry Van Dyke
This bright color painting with its streaks of boldness, splashes of cheerful colors represents a few playful acts of mine.
I need to learn not to take things too seriously and have a more spirited attitude. What about you?
So let’s not grow old for being too serious or even ill for not having the zest to stop and be lighthearted.
Maybe even learn from the children. For, “The heart of a child is soooo beautiful. It doesn’t come with any, how do you say, preconceptions? So it can be so playful and take so much joy from the moment.”
