Reflections and Inspiration can go hand in hand. Perhaps you have not considered that self-reflection is a tool to gain inspiration. For, we don’t learn by doing; we learn by reflecting on what we’ve done. Additionally, we can motivate ourselves through reflection on where we are, where we want to be and recognizing what it takes to move forward.

I think self-reflection is a way to inspire us to do more and become more. Perhaps we need to reflect to ultimately improve ourselves and live our dreams. “Since everything is a reflection of our minds, everything can be changed by our minds.”- Buddha

Indeed, self-reflection is not about listening to the negative talk in your mind. It is taking a moment to think about ourselves, who we are, what we believe in and what matters most to us. Ultimately, it’s important to make time for self-reflection because it’s a crucial ingredient of success. Through self-reflection, we can begin to understand our character, our actions and then our motives.

Self-reflection is a humbling process. It’s essential to find out why you think, say, and do certain things – then better yourself.” Sonya Teclai

Self-reflection is not about focusing on what you don’t like about yourself. It’s about moving past the negative to achieve something new. By paying kind attention to what hurts or isn’t helping, you can understand those things better and ultimately yourself. Introspection is the opposite of self-rejection. The loving gaze you grant yourself will free you and inspire you.

Reflections and Inspiration – An Acrylic Painting

In this acrylic abstract painting, I titled “Reflections and Inspiration”, I hope you feel the cool, yet warm inspiration that life offers you and know that not all things have to be tangible to enjoy and inspire. Reflection is a gift for your spirit. It lets deeper parts of who you are come forth and be discovered. It makes it possible for you to create something new.

A few moments of self-reflection can inspire you to achieve greatness.

“There is no greater journey than the one that you must take to discover all of the mysteries that lie within you.” – Michelle Sandlin
