The Blues
I so love to listen to The Blues, especially while I paint. For instance, you can often find me belting out the lyrics while I paint. I think the blues has such soul and depth; music that just seems to touch me.
The blues has deep roots in American history, particularly African American history. Furthermore, the blues originated on Southern plantations in the 19th Century. Its inventors were slaves, ex-slaves and the descendants of slaves—African American sharecroppers who sang as they toiled in the cotton and vegetable fields.
